65 Roses® 'Emerald Forest' - Thread, Tranquility (fine cord thread)

Price: $9.00

Tranquility—100% Reeled Silk—fine cord; 10 yards

Inspired by and named after actual roses (unless blue or green!), many 65 Roses® are limited edition colorways--only blooming once!  And new ones will bloom each season.
THIS COLORWAY IS A LIMITED EDITION

Emerald Forest has deep rich greens and emerald greens...no roses in the forest but it's still part of our 65 Roses® color line.

“65 Roses®” is a term often used by young children with cystic fibrosis to pronounce the name of their disease.

Treenway Silks donates a minimum 10% of sales to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in honor of Andrea's angels, to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). Since developing the 65 Roses® colorways in 2017, Treenway Silks has donated $4,225 through September 30, 2020—we appreciate your support as we work toward our 2020 goal!

Tranquility—100% Reeled Silk—fine cord

--equivalent in size and twist to Victorian Buttonhole Twist
--thread size is between a #8 and #12 perle
--has tight twist, giving a “cord” appearance
--each of the 3-strands has more than 70 parallel, unbroken silk filaments
--the minimal twist keeping the silk filaments together, gives this silk thread more sheen and luster than the spun silk threads Harmony and Zen Shin.  The tight ply twist makes it a bit less lustrous than Serenity
--can be divided (with care, as the silk filaments can separate from one another, especially in dry climates)

Hand-dyed in Colorado--color fast. We use acid dyes with heat and then rinse until water runs clear.
Wash in tepid or slightly warm water.

The silk is from the Bombyx mori silk worm, often referred to as "mulberry" silk.

10 yards (1/2 skein fits onto a standard sewing machine bobbin)

Stitching hints:

--smooth hands are extremely helpful—use a sugar scrub or other hand exfoliant before handling Tranquility
--the tight twist makes the thread “wiggly”; release the needle and let the thread untwist after several stitches
--stitches most easily with thread length 18” or shorter
--stitch going straight up and straight up as much as possible, especially if stitching on needlepoint canvas (do not drag your thread across your canvas)
--suitable for decorative stitches on 18-mesh canvas
