Recycled sari silk fibres are handspun into a vibrant and textured yarn. Because there are no dye lots, no two skeins are exactly alike.  And, as these yarns are spun by hand in India, the thickness of the yarn can vary a little (or a lot) from spinner to spinner.  

Our latest shipment is skinnier...similar to Zola (12/2) for thickness; there are approximately 200 yards in 100g.  

As this silk is dyed in India, we recommend washing the silk in luke-warm water--to check for color-fastness--BEFORE using in your project.  (If your final will never be washed, then you can skip this step.)

Our skeins sizes vary a bit in size, ranging between 75-130 grams, with the average skein being 100 grams. 

We’ve listed the price for the average skein.  We charge by the gram, so if your skein is a bit lighter, you’ll pay a bit less.  If you need specific yardage for a project, please let us know in the comments section at check out so we can select the correct skein(s) for you. 

Once your skein is pulled and weighed, we will adjust your price and then process your credit card. We will call you if we have any questions.
