Kit - Weaving - Limited Edition "Jin Silk" Scarf by Bonnie Inouye
LIMITED EDITION 4-shaft "Jin Silk" Scarf Kit as featured in Handwoven Loom Theory: 4-Shaft Scarves Collection
This incredible Turned Taquete design by Bonnie Inouye uses only 4 shafts--even though the design looks much more intricate than one would expect from 4 shafts! The threading is two non-repeating "layered" curves, which give the overall organically-shaped "waves". Once it's warped, it's an easy one-shuttle weave.
We are so in love with this scarf, we've extended the warp length to 5.25 yards so you can weave two scarves--one for yourself and one for a gift for someone special. You can duplicate the treadling or change it to create two unique scarves.
The warp is two colors of Kiku (20/2) silk yarn--our most popular--and the weft is skinny Myojo (60/2). This combination gives beautiful iridesence!
Your Limited Edition 4-shaft 100% Silk "Jin Silk" Scarf kit makes TWO scarves (each scarf is approx 10" wide and 72" long plus 1" double weave hem on each end), and includes:
1,095 yds (100g) of Kiku (20/2) silk yarn, color #405 I Can't Believe It's Not Indigo (blue)
1,050 yds ( 95g) of Kiku (20/2) silk yarn, color #222 Creole Spice (red)
1,935 yds ( 65g) of Myojo (60/2) silk yarn, color #9 Emerald Dream
Please note--the weaving draft and instructions are only available in Handwoven Loom Theory: 4-Shaft Scarves Collection (page 42) Unfortunately, we cannot include the draft with the kit.
