The shine of the Bombyx silk is reflected in Caribbean Dream--aquas, turquoises and a bit of parrot green.  The sheen of the Bombyx makes every color glow!

Bombyx silk is from the Bombyx mori silk worm...also called mulberry silk, because the silk worm eats only mulberry leaves.

Salt Spring Island colorways are hand-painted in Colorado.  Our silks are colorfast (cold water wash) and our colorways are consistent.  Hand-painting silk sliver is a labor-intensive process. It requires careful manipulation and effort to achieve even color coverage on silk sliver.
