65 Roses® 'Rosemary' - Thread, Shinju (#5 silk perle)

Price: $12.00

Shinju 100% spun silk, tightly twisted, size #5 perle - 10 yards

USUALLY inspired by and named for actual roses, this 65 Roses® colorway is perpetual..we continue to dye it.

There aren't many green roses, so we've expanded our rose theme.  We have a large rosemary plant that comes back every year--walking past it every day, I've been admiring the wide range of greens...the stems are gray-green and the leaves are green-green, with a bit of yellow green in the spring.  Hence the inspiration for Rosemary colorway.

“65 Roses®” is a term often used by young children with cystic fibrosis to pronounce the name of their disease.

Treenway Silks donates a minimum 10% of sales to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in honor of Andrea's angels, to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). Since developing the 65 Roses® colorways in 2017, Treenway Silks has donated $11,400 through March 31, 2022—we appreciate your support as we work toward our 2022 goal!

Shinju—100% Spun Silk, tightly twisted

--similar in size #5 perle
--3-ply thread, not designed to separate the strands
--precise twist aids in creating incredibly tight stitches
--the beauty of this thread is amplified when stitching knots, such as Bullion Knots, Bullion Loops, French Knots and Bullion Roses to name just a few
--suitable for decorative stitches on 13- or 18-mesh canvases

Hand-dyed in Colorado--color fast. We use acid dyes with heat and then rinse until water runs clear.
Wash in tepid or cool/cold water.

The silk is from the Bombyx mori silk worm, often referred to as "mulberry" silk.
"Shinju" means pearl in Japanese.

10 yards (1/2 skein fits onto a standard sewing machine bobbin)
