65 Roses® 'New Beginnings' - Thread, Harmony (6-strand silk floss)
Harmony—100% Spun Silk—6 strand floss; 10 yards
Inspired by and named for actual roses, this 65 Roses® colorway is perpetual..we continue to dye it.
This lovely color was develped for a friend who is a cancer survivor--she sent a photo of a lovely bouquet of roses and asked if we could replicate the feel of the photo. We base our colorways on actual roses--I found "New Beginnings" and thought the colors and sentiment was perfect for a survivor. Click HERE to see the rose that inspired this colorway
“65 Roses®” is a term often used by young children with cystic fibrosis to pronounce the name of their disease.
Treenway Silks donates a minimum 10% of sales to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in honor of Andrea's angels, to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). Since developing the 65 Roses® colorways in 2017, Treenway Silks has donated $40,000 through December 31, 2024—we appreciate your support as we work toward our 2025 goal!

--each of the individual 6 strands is a 2-ply thread for pleasurable stitching
--Harmony silk thread can easily be divided or “stranded”
The silk is from the Bombyx mori silk worm, often referred to as "mulberry" silk.
10 yards (1/2 skein fits onto a standard sewing machine bobbin)
Hand-painted in Colorado--color fast.
We use acid dyes for all of our silk dyeing.
For variegated colorways, we "paint" the dye onto the silk. It takes strong fingers to work the silk into the many strands. We steam at 190 degrees for several hours. We allow the silk to cool down overhight.
We rinse the silk until the water runs clear.
Wash instructions: wash in cool or cold water. Let dry. Iron, if desired, using the Silk setting on your iron.
