LIMITED EDITION Rigid Heddle "Subway" Silk Scarves Weaving Kit  (uses 12 dent heddle)

Peg MacMorris was inspired to create two scarves off one warp, with a new twist on Treenway Silk's signature 2Skeins=2Scarves® signature concept. 

This project is featured in Handwoven's Little Looms magazine, 2019 issue, pages 62-63 & 78-80.

Peg designed the scarves using log cabin (color & weave), and her color choices were inspired by "April showers bring May flowers" and the lines with accent colors reminded her of subway or light rail maps.

Here's what Peg says:
     "The design allows the weaver to weave two slightly different scarves from two skeins of silk in the light blue and dark green colors, with just a bit of pink or yellow in each scarf.
     "Log cabin is a simple color and weave effect plain weave with alternating dark and light warp ends.
     "The distinctive pattern is created by shifts from Light-Dark order to Dark-Light that create a sequence with two successive dark warp ends.
     "The two scarves are warped together (direct warping) and the different accent color for each is achieved by tying the new color to the first halfway along the warp length.  This allows the weaver to make the two scarves with two skeins of silk plus two mini skeins (10 yd each) of the accent colors."
