We love this yarn for knitting AND weaving.  When we had it spun for us again, we had just a bit more twist added so 'splitting your stitches' is unlikely. 

What does 20/2x5 mean? This is a cabled yarn--the '20' indicates a fine (thin) yarn; the '/2' means it's a 2-ply yarn; and the 'x5' means there are 5 strands of the 20/2 twisted together.  So this yarn is about 5 times as thick as our Kiku yarn.

This yarn is "happier" after it has been dyed--the extended time in the heated dye pot makes Jorie II slightly fuller and a little less slippery--espeically noticable if you are knitting with this yarn.  Knitters will find that while the yards/lb would typically make this a worsted weight yarn, Jorie II knits like a DK weight

Our skeins sizes vary a bit in size, ranging between 90-110grams, with the average skein being 100 grams.  

We’ve listed the price for the AVERAGE skein.  We charge by the gram, so if your skein is a bit lighter, you’ll pay a bit less.  If you need specific yardage for a project, please let us know in the comments section at check out so we can select the correct skein(s) for you.
