For stitch inspiration, I go to Piecework magazine's online "A Stitch in Time" library by Deanna Hall West.
I was fascinated by the versatile three-sided stitch, also known as the Turkish, Bermuda faggoting, lace, and point Turc stitch.
This stitch is a triangular, flat-line stitch, which can also be tightly pulled to create a lacy appearance.
Not only is it a lovely stitch, it has practical applications, such as joining together two lightweight fabrics or making a narrow, almost rolled, hem.
Of the eight variations that Deanna Hall West includes in her sampler, my favorite is how she uses it to couch silk ribbon (figure 7, after clicking the link below)
