Emeralds are a blue-green color, but still definitely green (not aqua or turquoise). They range in value from light to dark. The darker the emerald, the more valuable it is.
I had fun picking emerald colors from our threads and ribbons selection. I pulled mostly ribbons to photograph, as ribbons seem to glimmer, just like the stone.
LEFT TO RIGHT:
1) Hosta Garden--there's some emerald green nestled among the yellow greens, so it made it into the "emerald colors" photo. Hosta Garden is available in 3.5mm (shown), 7mm, Tranquility, Harmony, Zen Shin and Shinju.
2) Emerald Forest--this is a 65 Roses limited edition color, only available in Tranquility (shown). As with all 65 Roses items, Treenway Silks donates at least 10% of all sales to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in honor of Andrea's angels, to help fund research for a cure.
3) #322 Holly--this lovely green is available in 3.5mm (shown), Serenity, Tranquility, Harmony, Zen Shin and Shinju. And gosh, we've had this color for a couple years and I just realized I never added it to our website! LOL! I'll be doing that over the weekend.
4) #9 Emerald Dream--the rich emerald green is available in 3.5mm (shown), 7mm, Serenity, Tranquility, Harmony, Zen Shin and Shinju (not yet on website).
5) #10 Malachite--this lighter color emerald, while not as valuable a stone, is a beautiful and popular thread and ribbon color. This color is available in 3.5mm (shown), 7mm, Serenity, Tranquility, Harmony, Zen Shin and Shinju (not yet on website).
6) Herb Green--this mixture of greens includes some lighter emerald colors. It is one of the 74 Montano colorways, a collaboration between Judith Baker Montano and Treenway Silks, which began in 2006. Herb Green is available in 3.5mm (shown) and Tranquility.
