All our ribbons are woven using fine reeled silk which still has the sericin in it. This acts as a natural sizing. The warp threads are two strands of fine silk which are twisted together. There are 300 fine warp threads per inch. The weft is a single silk strand. The ribbon is woven in plain weave, where the weft goes over one warp thread and under one warp thread all the way across.

We have five widths of ribbons:

• 2mm (approx 1/16")
  
• 3.5mm (approx 1/8")
• 7mm (approx ¼")
• 13mm (approx ½")
• 32mm (approx 1 ¼")

They are available in natural white (undyed) and hand-dyed in both full skeins (see below for yardages and prices) and 5 yard lengths (Silk Ribbon Mini Skeins).

Please note: Full skeins cannot be split.

Our ribbons are special because they are hand-dyed. It can be expected that colours will vary between dyelots. Irregularities within a skein are part of the hand-dyeing process. Sample cards are available.

All widths except 32mm can be hand–dyed in any of our 100 solid colours.

Calendula Skin Soother

An herbal and botanical lotion to soften and heal your skin. A natural alternative to cortisone creams for calming itches. Soothes sun, wind and radiation burns and helps heal stubborn cracked skin.

Includes calendula, nettle, chamomile, arnica, burdock root, rose petals, comfrey root and leaf plus much more. Unscented.
